What does being “In The Moment” really mean?

Today I made a fantastic distinction around Diversity = Dynamic

One of the challenges of sharing ideas in family, team, and community – is we can experience control or get upset and regularly come away feeling confused by another person’s strong point of view around systems, a project or start-ups. I believe this is attributed to our different styles of thinking, not learning. We each go through our own unique thought process to come up with our interpretation of a situation.

These interpretations are expressed by the way our personal neuro pathways are fired up in the brain; an array of electrical impulses and connections that help you to express yourself. And yes, I know we have all heard about all the different learning styles, but this is different.

What I am talking about here is “how do we stay present with each other without being dominated by one person’s particular thinking process?” I believe the reason for all the discord or control in relationships, be they personal or professional and even cultural and community are due to this very thing.

I term this behaviour ‘the thinking wars’ – Dominance = Disconnect.

However, where we need to move to as a species is – Diversity = Dynamic

And of course this all sounds good on paper or on a wiz bang power point, but how do we do it in real time, real life? We must be willing to cross the bridge with one another, we literally have to drop out of our thinking for a moment or two and connect to the intelligence of our heart.

If each person present can accept that the only way they can truly understand each other and make a valuable contribution, is through a genuine heart to heart connection, this is in fact what empowers people. Because the real power is when and where lasting trust is built. Truth is, we are never going to really understand the way another person thinks because we are not that person.

Moreover, we most certainly can connect with each other through our aligned values, which are born from the heart.

Our aligned values are what make up the unbreakable connections, which can form this powerful and effective Diversity = Dynamic bridge.

The new wave of relationship in business is emerging: where people adopt a very different, but progressive model of teamwork… Because it will be through our surrender to the power of the heart that we will experience the benefits of cordial collaboration, social synergy, cohesive community and contributing more than money.

So, my dear humans take heed…

HEART to HEART CONNECTION is the currency of the FUTURE.

The great news is, we all have one!

WHY we need STORY

animals-avian-beach-760984We long for connection with all that is curious and creative.

We are creatures who belong to each other for reasons beyond analysis, for it is our heart’s desire and our life’s dream to fulfill a worthy story.

We ache with a need to connect and create or sadly the other is we become numb and silently indifferent.

Yet it is the never-ending and renewed STORY that is forever wanting to grow through us… I urge you, dear storytellers of our time, to be at one with its magical forces. For in truth there is nothing but Story, it is what teaches us and what sustains us as human beings. STORY informs our purpose, but more importantly, it gives humanity its Soul.

Become A Social Entrepreneur Connector

Home truth coming your way… I haven’t always been the best at the whole networking thing. I use to think, if I always do my best the business will come. Well that does work to some degree, but the truth is good networking does work and great networking rocks!!!

The thought of networking at conferences and industry events can make some social entrepreneurs a little bored, twitchy or even nervous to say the least. But if you go into it feeling that uncomfortable, your results will be mediocre. Attending “Great Connecting Events” are a major part of being a successful entrepreneur, so it’s in your best interest to get being really, really good at it…

Its time to learn how to be a spectacular “Tribe-Talker”

Here is a simple format to help you make valuable connections and find ways to unleash your expressive, dynamic and passionate tribe-talker within.

Slide05

1. Ideas = Intention

Identify your intention before you even get to your event.

What are you looking to get out of the event?
Are you there to generate leads?
What kind of people do you want to meet?
Which speakers do you want to connect with?

2. Integrity = Identity

Leave your intrusive elevator pitch at home.

Remember you’re not there to close a sale. Avoid selling yourself and telling everyone why your product or service is the best. Instead, ask everyone you speak to… “Is there anything I can do to help your operation.” This generous approach will leave an impression that ensures they’ll answer your phone call or email after the event.

This display of “Generosity of Spirit” starts to build your relationship for future discussions. Don’t forget to follow up with everyone. Make contact within 72 hours of the event. This keeps your encounter fresh in peoples minds.

3. Passion = Purpose

Don’t sound robotic. Let your true personality shine through. Be authentic.

Building 4 or 5 meaningful connections is better than collecting 30 business cards from people you wont speak to again. Sprouting off your script-like spiel might get you a business card, but probably just to make you go away.

Take time to be fully present in your conversations and remember your follow up time after the event is important. Those “being totally present conversations” can often lead to valuable business opportunities.

4. Leadership = Leverage

Be heard and seen.

Nobody is going to remember you unless you are engaging. If you are at a conference make an effort to ask at least one question during the Q&A session following each presentation. Not an empty question with no real purpose – it needs to be an interaction of authenticity and intelligent. This is a great way to get on the radar of everyone in the room. People will approach you to connect and will initiate conversation. If you seem even a little savvy around a topic, you become attractive, a magnet that can pull in contacts from many directions.

5. Diversity = Dynamic

Team up with a people who compliment your flaws and strengths.

It’s always easier when you have others on your team – it gives you extra confidence and if you select your networking partners carefully you can make sure you are equipped with people who make up for your shortcomings.

For instance, if you are a bit of a risk taker or change agent partner up with someone that is a people pleaser and mentor. Let them open up some conversations and introduce you to bring it home and make new connections. And equally, you can support them when need be, with your unique strengths.

Do we have more than one tribe?

You become more of who you’re meant to be, by sharing yourself authentically with others.

Becoming more of “who you know you really are” and making your greatest contribution through sharing your gifts is all about finding your team; your tribe.

It’s less about running a solo race and more about trusting in others to support what you want to do and be in life.

Many of us have spent years struggling in isolation, trying to break away from old patterns.

You may have a deep and passionate desire to deliver your true creativity to the world.

You may appear to have wonderfully supportive friends and family members, but your inner experience still feels like you are alone.

And often part of the problem is that you may beat yourself up for not being able to do it alone.

What if these challenges to your true potential weren’t caused by any personal inadequacy, but rather was the result of not having enough real support in your life.

Real support looks like this –

1. Being with people who know where you’re coming from.

2. Being with people who also share their authentic self with you.

3. Being with people who celebrate your wins and understand that mistakes are also essential to living a socially and spiritually fulling life.

What is Workplace Empowerment!

10906090_761556280595114_4570784197363698840_n

We all want to feel happy, satisfied and fulfilled when we go the work, after all it’s where many of us spent half our life.
They say Time = Money, perhaps?
I suggest other wise…
How about Time = Life, your life.

Let’s face it, it doesn’t matter whether we’re a CEO, Personal Assistant, HR person, Hairdresser, Technician or Sales Assistant, we all want to feel valued, supported and happy.

We all want our work life to reflect who we are and what we value. So often though we leave our real deal self at home and bring to work, what I call our Half-Self.

Our vision at Real Deal seminars is to assist corporations, small business and institutions with new and effective ways of reaching workplace empowerment.

And the best place to start is with “the people”.

We ask people to identify “what’s not working and what is working in their workplace?”

Often mistrust is due to a lack of transparency, covert and overt competition and personal agendas that continuously need to be meet, which often result in bulling or passive aggressive behaviour, which is just as disruptive (covert bullying).

Finding out what works and what doesn’t work requires all parties to adopt a new way of communicating with each other, we call it “Being Real Matters”

“Being Real Matters” focuses on 5 necessary elements:

1. Identify
2. Clarity
3. Specify
4. Edify
5. Unify

Each step encourages people to be objective, creative, progressive and remain connected to their personal role or vision and the collective vision, while operating in their community or work environment.

Many of us wake up each day ready to add value to our life and the lives of others, instinctively wanting to make a difference.

But somehow our paradigm shifts when we get out into the world. Constant detractions and demands make us forget about what we really want and we often give away our authentic personal power when we walk into the workplace.

To effectively transform your workplace culture, start by asking yourself and your team a simple question:

  • Do you believe the people around you have the potential to do even greater work? The answer will likely be yes, but that only kicks off the discussion.

Here’s some follow-up questions:

  • How do we genuinely believe in each other’s potential?
  • The truth presents in the type of feedback we give each other, how quickly do we share information and how consistent and persistent we are?
  • So, in your own interactions, how can you demonstrate your belief in others even more?

Here’s a few ways to start:

  • Ensure people are accountable to their role and collective vision or outcomes.
  • Do a better job at asking inclusive questions.
  • Always be creative and collaborative with your approach.
  • Ask for help when you need it.

When you practice these actions, you begin to drive a more supportive workplace culture that activates creative human potential, which is much more engaging, exciting and inviting than any old toxic workplaces tactics that tear down and discourage. Your company/business/institution only has potential, because human beings have great potential when empowered.

Your workplace culture is indeed the sum of the daily interactions between everyone in your organisation.

Lead with the mindset of “Being Real Matters” and watch this directive energy transform the interactions within your workplace community.

Being Real Matters… is the art of adding value.

How’s your Projector working?

Are you a State of the Art PROJECTOR?

A PROJECT requires clarity of intention and projection, which is precisely why it is called a project. In order for a project to become a reality in the world, we must focus on its quality of projection. What are you projecting to the world?

Is it fuzzy?

Is it blurry?

Is it totally out of focus?

Or is it crystal clear?
