Our Story Creates Identity And Connection

Storytelling is the way we build our identity as human beings. And the weavers of those stories come in the form of traditional archetypes.

Ultimately the memories we choose to tell form carefully placed scenes of our story; which then inform our life purpose.

We are what we share and we only share if we care –

So, it’s simply inappropriate to brush off our experiences as dull or insignificant. How we choose to connect to our stories is what makes an interesting meaningful story arc.

What we choose to say and share is extremely important, whether its last weeks school graduation as a meaningful event, the birth of a child or the death of a loved one as a turning point, it doesn’t matter what the event, but rather it’s the essence, the emotion, the spirit that’s expressed about the moment that really matters.

Finding a genuine, formative moment in your story is always going to be a powerful and valuable contribution to your reader or audience. Our stories are what teach us and guide us toward our humanity.

Do you have a story that needs to be shared?

Cinema is an experience we have together.

Perfect description about the screening FACES of CLAY held on March 14th, 2019 – written by CHERIE ROWETT of Heart Choice Enterprises who was our brilliant and charming MC for the night.

IMG_3953

“This week I had the absolute pleasure of MCing the inaugural screening of a short film titled Faces of Clay by Elizabeth Ellames and Harvey Newland-Harman. The film captures the creative and transformative process involved in making some of the art pieces for The Art of Being Human exhibition in the 2019 Adelaide Fringe Festival. The art exhibition was a project developed by Serafina Tané to strengthen community and collaboration in Adelaide CBD.

The remarkable sculptures produced by Scott Eames for the exhibition were the focus of the film “Faces of Clay”, and were on display in the foyer of The Mercury cinema on the night. To hear in the film the life stories of Angela, Wolf, Bushy, and Jill, who were the subjects of the sculptures, was to be granted powerful insights into human vulnerability and human resilience alike.

Each of the sculptures will now reside in agencies that assist people through the most fragile times – Hutt St Centre, MOSH, Catherine House and Baptistcare. My sincere congratulations to the artists and everyone involved in the art exhibition for your talent and commitment to strengthening community, to Scott Eames for your amazing sculpting talents, and to Elizabeth and Harvey – the “Faces of Clay” filming and production team – for your commitment to telling stories that matter with such beautiful technique and tenderness.

The night was complete with original live music from Souzi and the Cool Mints in the foyer before the screening, a tastefully run auction by Dale Gray, and the great audience. It was indeed a memorable evening of connection and celebration, and I have much gratitude for being invited to MC the event.”

WHY we need STORY

animals-avian-beach-760984We long for connection with all that is curious and creative.

We are creatures who belong to each other for reasons beyond analysis, for it is our heart’s desire and our life’s dream to fulfill a worthy story.

We ache with a need to connect and create or sadly the other is we become numb and silently indifferent.

Yet it is the never-ending and renewed STORY that is forever wanting to grow through us… I urge you, dear storytellers of our time, to be at one with its magical forces. For in truth there is nothing but Story, it is what teaches us and what sustains us as human beings. STORY informs our purpose, but more importantly, it gives humanity its Soul.

The REAL DEAL Benefits Of Being Socially Responsible in Business

There are benefits on both sides of being a socially responsible business. We all like to connect with good people, as do customers, who also prefer to associate with good businesses. And being a socially responsible business is a great way to attract positive attention to your organization, and also make your employees feel proud to be part of your enterprise. But before you can do this, it’s important to have clearly defined core values.

Build Your Brand From The Inside Out

Being socially responsible is a great way to build your brand, and create a positive name for yourself. Things like goodwill, trust, and an overall positive image are possible through being socially responsible. If you support the right type of cause, there can also be many co-branding and marketing opportunities.

Attract And Engage Appropriate Talent

Gen Y and Gen X are generally suspicious of big business, the government, and the media. And are especially connected to working for socially responsible companies. Millennial case studies show that around 80 percent of 13- to 25-year-olds surveyed want to work for businesses that care about their effect on society. Others studies have found that MBA graduates would prefer to sacrifice on average $11,000 of their annual salary to work for a socially responsible establishment. The current trends show that people really do want to make a difference in the world, and this is a great way to attract and engage the appropriate talent in your business. When staff members are proud of where they work they feel a sense of loyalty, which makes them ambassadors for the business.

People Want To Contribute To Something That Makes A Difference And Has A Positive Impact On The World

People Love Being Socially Responsible

Many studies have found that 50% of consumers, surveyed worldwide would be willing to pay more for goods and services from socially responsible companies. The caution is, and this is important for businesses to think about, is that in countries where there was already some disbelief, the willingness to spend more was lower. This means that businesses and the initiatives you’re applying need to be totally authentic. It’s extremely important to always be demonstrating “inclusiveness, kindness and transparency,” in everything from your business culture to your promotional campaigns.

It Helps To Encourage Connectivity And Engagement

When you include your team in larger processes and vision planning, such as designing and applying a socially responsible initiative for your business. They’ll feel that they are part of something bigger, inspired, that they have influence and can create impact. Therefore they will be more engaged and generally speaking, people are most engaged when they feel part of a collective, rather than bound to their usual role and tasks.

It Keeps Your Business Innovative

Choosing to have a unique and value-add impact, as a business, and doing things differently to your competitors helps your business stand out more. This applies to all areas of business, including a socially responsible business. Your relationship with society is as important as your relationship with customers. Having a strong vision and connection to a cause that makes a positive impact provides a genuine “value add, caring, and innovative advantage.”

Collaborative Leadership For Good

Being a small operation or a ‘sole trader’ needn’t hold you back from becoming a socially responsible business. The same principles apply whether your business is large or small. You can still be an inspiration, influence others and create social impact by simply collaborating with other small business owners, consultants and sole traders that have aligned values and who are equally passionate about making a positive difference in the world.

Being YOU!

Being the best YOU eliminates competition and comparisons. The truth is no one can be better at being you, than you!

I have been in the business of helping people identify their authentic self for well over 20 years. It’s been indeed a powerful, rewarding, challenging, and revealing process and I say that with absolute love and compassion.

  • I’ll also add my experience on this journey of self-discovery was the number one issue for most people that I’ve worked with is the limiting core belief of “not being good enough”.
  • This is often masked by what some call “the imposter syndrome”, whose flipside is “I have to be better than everyone else to be accepted”.

The problem with this thinking is one never reaches or even feels their potential for long enough to really grow their inner culture because their true potential lies within themselves and when someone is constantly viewing themselves from an external comparison their inner culture, their magnificence (light) starts to fade away.

So when I say… Being the best YOU eliminates competition and comparisons, I am suggesting you cant do it by looking outside yourself, you must go within. Being the best you is always going to be an inside job, sure we can use tools/practices to aid in that process and that’s why I created the tools I have for people. But the looking outside yourself is really for one reason only… to genuinely connect with other human beings.

Not for the purpose of gain or to copy them or even be better than them. Its to unite with them so we can ALL shine brighter. Of course, I’m not saying we don’t learn from each other because that’s a given.

However, what I am pointing out is “what’s the intention, desire, and motivation behind that need to learn from others?” In a world where we are made to think you have to “be the best” to get ahead, it’s no wonder people have adopted these destructive and disempowering ideas and become blind to the needs of their inner personal culture, essence, spirit, and value.

The truth is no one can be better at being you, than you! You then see that there is no competition, it’s just a figment of your imagination.

So, I will say it again… no one can be better at being you, than you! Which invites the question, Who are YOU?

What are Attention and Intention?

What does it take to perfect clarity again and again throughout your life?

It takes “CLARITY of INTENTION” – which simply means placing your attention on how your personality and skill set can add value to the lives of others. It also requires tuning in with the same enthusiasm, heart to heart connection, vulnerability, and openness that you felt at the time of your project’s inception, and then be willing to listen to and observe any synchronicities that present themselves.

Attention and Intention are how you build quality RESONANCE – this means cultivating alignment, hovering around it, reclaiming it and correcting and transforming your behavior again and again – plus watching with honesty and compassion to the what, why and how of all your actions.

You must totally trust that the Unified Field, Your Future Self, and Your Spirit has been informing you of your role as a co-creator in all that you have been creating.

Being in synch with the larger intention (The Field) – will give you the courage to open your heart and mind to social innovation, to speak out even when you are the only person in the room with that perception.

Don’t doubt what you are supposed to be doing – when you align your values and motives to serve the “greater creative impulse”, you begin to see it’s actually facilitating you.

That doesn’t mean you don’t occasionally lose hope, clarity, or inner peace. However it does mean that you know how to regain it, and it always comes down to tuning into something greater than yourself and aligning with the creative impulse, which is moving in the same direction, accompanying you as you go.

How do you achieve this? – By simply meditating each morning for 15 – 60 minutes a day before doing anything else. Contemplating, tuning in, asking, listening and waiting until you are fully relaxed and grateful before you get up and begin the rest of your day. I know that might seem like a long time for some people, but the results are worth it.

You could look at it this way time = live not money – and your Future Self requires you to create some uninterrupted Time and Space each day to ensure you continue to have Clarity of Intention – I encourage you to decided that approximately 4 hours in a week of 168 hours, isn’t really much to contribute to gain the clarity of intention and a deep sense of connection you need to keep on purpose. Also recognizing that the “peak” synchronistic events that you have experienced in life, along with your daily meditation help you maintain your resonance, which in turn allows these synchronistic events to keep occurring organically.

Acknowledging these experiences is a reminder of what’s possible – choose to be in this resonance as often as you possibly can: A co-creative, connected, clear place where your thoughts, feelings, beliefs, conversations and actions are all aligned with your purpose.

Here is a short verse to use when seeking guidance around your co-creation and purpose.

Dear Future Self…

Please show me if this project I want to initiate or be a part of is part of a greater creative impulse, which is authentically correcting and transforming our world – and directly moving toward…

SYNERGY, PEACE, LOVE, PROSPERITY and UNITY.

If it is, I am happy to be an instrument of this conscious evolution and I will generously use my personal empowerment to serve this larger vision. I simply need to know this isn’t just me doing something willfully, independent of a larger purpose and intention.

Oh yeah… Its Christmas

Well it is that time of the year again… Christmas.

Some people love it, others hate it and others just do it.

Which category do you fall under?

I like to view my Christmas as a sacred time, a time to celebrate all I have achieved in terms of correcting and transforming my life.

The Christmas Tree in our home is likened to the Tree of Life and its decorations are seen as symbolic gestures, which mark different eras in our time together as a family. The trimming of the tree and making the Christmas Pudding are a tradition that are always upheld with much delight.

Of course both of these practices are common place in many homes, and can often lose meaning, so for me I feel it is important to add our own family culture to the mix. We can slip into the empty habit of just doing a job and moving on to the next task at hand. That is indeed the way of our busy world. But Christmas marks a time in the year to truly create, celebrate and contribute.

I encourage you to embrace Christmas with delight:

Create the space in your life to be creative.

Celebrate and share the joy in your heart with your family, friends and community.

Contribute in ways that add value, come to the table with a gift that really counts; your “generosity of spirit”. It is worth so much more than anything you can buy. Start a heartfelt conversation and initiate acts of kindness where judgement would usually be.

These simple unity based principles are what Christmas is really about… The birth of the Holy Child is alive in every human being. And Christmas is a wonderful time to celebrate our life together as children of our Holy Mother, Planet Earth.

We can be restful and respectful as we unite, and in this sacred union we are reminded that we are The Holy Family.

And would like to also add that the video below of Happy Christmas by John and Yoko was released in 1971 – And we do indeed need to be living the mantra “war is over, if you want it!”.

Time and change are our constant reminder that nothing stays the same. They bring home the heartfelt memories of what really matter to us in our life.

May PEACE be your heartfelt intention this Christmas and everyday. We can use our collective consciousness to create PEACE, before we charge our glasses and say Merry Christmas, perhaps we could share a heart to heart prayer for real PEACE on EARTH.

I choose to be the REAL DEAL this Christmas and Unite My Light where ever I can for PEACE….

What is Workplace Empowerment!

10906090_761556280595114_4570784197363698840_n

We all want to feel happy, satisfied and fulfilled when we go the work, after all it’s where many of us spent half our life.
They say Time = Money, perhaps?
I suggest other wise…
How about Time = Life, your life.

Let’s face it, it doesn’t matter whether we’re a CEO, Personal Assistant, HR person, Hairdresser, Technician or Sales Assistant, we all want to feel valued, supported and happy.

We all want our work life to reflect who we are and what we value. So often though we leave our real deal self at home and bring to work, what I call our Half-Self.

Our vision at Real Deal seminars is to assist corporations, small business and institutions with new and effective ways of reaching workplace empowerment.

And the best place to start is with “the people”.

We ask people to identify “what’s not working and what is working in their workplace?”

Often mistrust is due to a lack of transparency, covert and overt competition and personal agendas that continuously need to be meet, which often result in bulling or passive aggressive behaviour, which is just as disruptive (covert bullying).

Finding out what works and what doesn’t work requires all parties to adopt a new way of communicating with each other, we call it “Being Real Matters”

“Being Real Matters” focuses on 5 necessary elements:

1. Identify
2. Clarity
3. Specify
4. Edify
5. Unify

Each step encourages people to be objective, creative, progressive and remain connected to their personal role or vision and the collective vision, while operating in their community or work environment.

Many of us wake up each day ready to add value to our life and the lives of others, instinctively wanting to make a difference.

But somehow our paradigm shifts when we get out into the world. Constant detractions and demands make us forget about what we really want and we often give away our authentic personal power when we walk into the workplace.

To effectively transform your workplace culture, start by asking yourself and your team a simple question:

  • Do you believe the people around you have the potential to do even greater work? The answer will likely be yes, but that only kicks off the discussion.

Here’s some follow-up questions:

  • How do we genuinely believe in each other’s potential?
  • The truth presents in the type of feedback we give each other, how quickly do we share information and how consistent and persistent we are?
  • So, in your own interactions, how can you demonstrate your belief in others even more?

Here’s a few ways to start:

  • Ensure people are accountable to their role and collective vision or outcomes.
  • Do a better job at asking inclusive questions.
  • Always be creative and collaborative with your approach.
  • Ask for help when you need it.

When you practice these actions, you begin to drive a more supportive workplace culture that activates creative human potential, which is much more engaging, exciting and inviting than any old toxic workplaces tactics that tear down and discourage. Your company/business/institution only has potential, because human beings have great potential when empowered.

Your workplace culture is indeed the sum of the daily interactions between everyone in your organisation.

Lead with the mindset of “Being Real Matters” and watch this directive energy transform the interactions within your workplace community.

Being Real Matters… is the art of adding value.

Goodbye to Gossip

Hello Integrity….. Dear old gossip has become an addiction for many women.

It is seductive and builds an unhealthy intimacy among women, which creates false security. I believe the female species will come to a place of contentment when this persistent obstacle is corrected and transformed.

Gossip is connected to these four faces of addiction.

  • boredom
  • competition
  • drama
  • low self-esteem

Realizing this is the first step to healing the addiction – from there we can choose to participate in it or not.

It is said the point of power is in the present and poor old Gossip is never in the present she is always going on about what was said or happened in the past. She weaves her words for the purpose of separation, which create a divide in friendships, family and community.

Gossip keeps everyone small and is always driven by fear. Women have relied on gossip to define their position in society and culture for centuries, but it is not necessary anymore. Women now have the opportunity to rise up out of this unproductive damaging behavior and create a new and prosperous culture for all women.

Gossip is a shadow deity whose time and face has come to an end. She has upgraded to the face of “Integrity”, who is evolving into the New Woman, the New Humanity and therefore there is no place for these old behaviors.

I say it is time to put our temptation to spread rumors to bed and start being more creative with our female conversations, after all, we are extremely creative beings.

For the record, the gossip on me is “why does she always have to be… so in ya’ face” well my response to that is – at least it’s to your face and not behind your back and bitchin’ in the kitchen so to speak.

Guess it all started with that wicked old queen in the story of Snow White who’s famous last words were “Mirror, Mirror on the wall who’s the fairest of them all” now she had a serious bitchin’ addiction.

Hope you can take this refreshing idea into your relationships and watch them bloom into something far greater than girly catch ups.

Real Deal Men and Women

barefoot-daytime-facial-expression-936112

Is evolution handing the reins over to women?

If we lift the veil on our Planet… what do we see right now?

The dominant profit-over-people systems are going through major breakdowns. Humanity’s 5,000-year abuse of power and masculine/feminine imbalance is coming to an end. People are waking up to a new wave of consciousness.

How do we deal with this change?

First, we need to disconnect from the emotional entanglement of the old. Then recognize that we are at the end of a cycle, which is what we need to do in order for the new to be born.

How do we facilitate this new way of being in the world?

The old way has conditioned women to feel powerless. But their nature, in fact, has always been powerful. Women have the ability to access power from the depths of their intuition, they hold within their bodies a great creative potential, and can exercise power through a balanced open heart. Women know how to connect, for they are the masters of emotion.

Women innately have the power of creation within them.

At present women are being asked to stand strong. Not to stand against something, but to stand up and be REAL DEAL women. On their own, women can’t heal the violation of our planet or bring peace to the whole world. But every woman willing to direct her passion, mission, heart’s desire, life’s work can facilitate the change we need. Together we can create a new story for humanity, one where a woman stands strong in their true leadership potential.

The old way has caused women to compete against each other. It is time for women to throw off their conditioning, reach out to each other, and collaborate. Collectively standing in their power creates connection and with this increase of Unity, the old power structures will fall away.

Is it time for women to stop asking for permission and time to start asking for support?

The New Woman is bringing forth the New Man; at the moment men have a very different task also, which is to reclaim the power of their heart. They too are experiencing this new and often challenging transformation, which is forcing us to respect each other even more. Their role is to increasingly honor women while they go about their life purpose and to honor their own male process and responses, which is being activated by the emerging feminine power that is upon us.

So what does the future hold?

Who really knows, but what we can do is focus on what works, as the old ways change for the better and make way for a new way of being… women and men alike—have a window of opportunity: the opportunity to dream a new world rooted in the energy of a higher heart, the souls calling, the balance of the feminine/masculine that is created through the gift of revere, recognition and respect.

There is no question that a new world will emerge. The only question is: What part do we want to play in it?

Are you ready to be a REAL DEAL man and woman?

Do you always live your life in the present moment?

Can you identify and communicate your story and your brand clearly?

REAL DEAL productions have been created for the purpose of helping men and women to identify, clarify, specify, edify and unify their purpose-based brand. The clearer you are around your time, energy and purpose the more value you can contribute to your own life and the lives of others.
