How can New Style Leadership succeed in the real world?

New Style Leadership is not based on the old model of just seeing results; the old bottom line system address’ only one aspect of the whole process. While the New Style Leader focuses on staying in a unity-based context, which defines and gives structure to the role of the New Style Leader as a co-creator.

The first step in becoming a New Style Leader is saying YES to the call…

What does that mean?

A New Style Leader knows that social and spiritual awareness are one in the same and play a large part in being an effective leader. Saying yes to the call is actually saying yes to your conviction as a social and spiritual entrepreneur.

People may say “but I am not socially active and I am not particularly spiritual either”. Let’s view the idea of social and spiritual – there are many definitions in the dictionary that describe spiritual, many of which are focused on religion. I suggest this is not the case for most people in society.

Here are three definitions, which I believe are how many people view the idea of being social and spiritual today.

Definition – Social

  • Pertaining to, devoted to, or characterized by friendly companionship or relations.
  • Living or inclined to live in companionship with others or in a community, rather than in isolation.
  • Have or pertaining to the life, welfare, and relations of human beings in a community.

Definition – Spiritual

  • Relating to, consisting of, or having the nature of spirit; not tangible or material.
  • Pertaining to having a spirit or soul, different from the physical nature.
  • Having a relationship based on a profound level of mental or emotional unity, pertaining to a refined and higher quality of emotions and actions.

What I am suggesting here is the idea of being dedicated to social and spiritual awareness, which are at the heart of every New Style Leader and one cant create long-term effective change in the world without these two very powerful and necessary elements.

Social and Spiritual  

We have turned to many metaphor duets over time and Social and Spiritual can indeed come under that category.

Here are just a few popular examples – as above/so below, within/without and the micro/the macro. The connection between Social and Spiritual awareness plays an important part in our human experience, we are much more than our immediate world of material matter, we are also made up of our inner more sensitive world of emotions, which are connected to our thoughts, feelings, desires, and visions for a promising future.

However, the moment one starts to talk in these terms, their audience often becomes dismissive, defensive, and disagreeable. Perhaps that’s because people have thought you must keep social and spiritual concepts separate.

But what if keeping them separate has actually created many of the hardships we are facing today. I believe there is no separation between social and spiritual; unfortunately, humanity is repeatedly creating this illusion of separation, which is supporting our unstable and disturbing reality.

The New Style Leaders role requires bringing these two worlds/realities; social and spiritual together. It doesn’t involve becoming a preacher or religious person. All it requires is the desire to cultivate a promising future for humanity, one where both social and spiritual needs are met and respected.

It is acknowledging, honoring, and participating in the process of creation…

Every culture throughout early civilization was centered on a creation myth of some kind. A creation myth (or creation story) is a cultural, traditional or religious myth, which describes the earliest beginnings of the present world. Creation myths are the most common form of myth, usually developing first in oral traditions, and are found throughout human culture. A creation myth is usually regarded as conveying profound truths, although not necessarily in a historical or literal sense.

They are cosmology myths, which describe the ordering of the cosmos from a state of chaos or nothingness. What I am suggesting is that all human culture was originally based on similar concepts, like the social and spiritual connection. This is not a new or unusual concept; perhaps we have just forgotten the nature of our origins. I’m not saying we need to return to such ancient practices, but rather we can draw on these ideas that were unity-based.

Basic types of creation myths are: EARTH DIVER – EMERGENCE – OUT OF NOTHING – WORLD PARENT – CREATION FROM CHAOS

Here are three simple definitions that I believe are aligned to the social and spiritual model of leadership. I see the concept and application of creation and co-creation as being a very valuable tool in our world today.

Definition – Creation

  • The act or process of creating.
  • Something that has been brought into existence or created.
  • The act of creating or engendering; give rise to.

These three neutral definitions of creation also provide a great platform from which to form a new and stronger style of leadership. The idea of creation is the combination of being in the continuous process of social and spiritual activity. Creation could, in fact, be the process and the result of how we grow as human beings.

We are creation its self, so through the process of becoming socially and spiritually creative, it enhances our ability to create even more. Creating a new, creating together, creating social systems and creating spiritually sound relationships. This is how we grow a vibrant and creative new humanity.

I don’t see an end to the process, but rather it requires a commitment to stay in the process until your time is up; your personal life cycle is complete. We need to stay in a continuous process of creation in order for the new humanity to remain just that; it must always remain in a state of new.

New Style Leaders collectively have the what, why, how and vision to respond to the call of creation.

So, in conclusion, I suggest that social and spiritual are actually one of the same and do need to co-exist. We require social structures that have a sound unity-based context, in order for the refined qualities of our human spirit to be creative and fully expressed. The New Style Leader is committed to maintaining and repairing the social and spiritual fabric of humanity. The New Style Leader is prepared to stay in the process of creation for as long as it takes to fulfill their life’s purpose.

If we are able to observe the perfected patterns of nature; Creation, desirable results form organically and the true nature of success takes up its rightful place in community and humanity.

Goodbye to Gossip

 

Hello Integrity….. Dear old gossip has become an addiction for many women.

It is seductive and builds an unhealthy intimacy among women, which creates false security. I believe the female species will come to a place of contentment when this persistent obstacle is corrected and transformed.

Gossip is connected to these four faces of addiction.

  • boredom
  • competition
  • drama
  • low self-esteem

Realizing this is the first step to healing the addiction – from there we can choose to participate in it or not.

It is said the point of power is in the present and poor old Gossip is never in the present she is always going on about what was said or happened in the past. She weaves her words for the purpose of separation, which create a divide in friendships, family and community.

Gossip keeps everyone small and is always driven by fear. Women have relied on gossip to define their position in society and culture for centuries, but it is not necessary anymore. Women now have the opportunity to rise up out of this unproductive damaging behavior and create a new and prosperous culture for all women.

Gossip is a shadow deity whose time and face has come to an end. She has upgraded to the face of “Integrity”, who is evolving into the New Woman, the New Humanity and therefore there is no place for these old behaviors.

I say it is time to put our temptation to spread rumors to bed and start being more creative with our female conversations, after all, we are extremely creative beings.

For the record, the gossip on me is “why does she always have to be… so in ya’ face” well my response to that is – at least it’s to your face and not behind your back and bitchin’ in the kitchen so to speak.

Guess it all started with that wicked old queen in the story of Snow White who’s famous last words were “Mirror, Mirror on the wall who’s the fairest of them all” now she had a serious bitchin’ addiction.

Hope you can take this refreshing idea into your relationships and watch them bloom into something far greater than girly catch ups.

 

The Four Key Elements Of The Change Agent

Here are the 4 key elements of the Change Agent for those of you who may be thinking – “Am I a Change Agent, Change Make or perhaps even a Social Entrepreneur?”

What is a Change Agent or a Social Entrepreneur?

They are the New Style Leaders who are motivated by a desire to help, improve and transform social, environmental, educational and economic conditions. Key traits and characteristics of highly effective new style leaders/social entrepreneurs include ambition and a lack of acceptance of the status quo or accepting the world “as it is”. The new style leader is driven by an emotional desire to address some of the big social and economic conditions in the world, for example, poverty and educational deprivation, rather than by the desire for only making a profit. New-style leaders seek to develop innovative solutions to global problems that can be copied by others to enact change. New Style Leaders act within a market aiming to create social value through the improvement of goods and services offered to the community. Their main aim is to offer a better service, improving the community as a whole and is predominately run as non-profit schemes.

A Change Agent lives life with vision and action. Regardless of what is going on today, a change agent has a vision of what could or should be and uses that as the governing sense of action. To a certain extent, a change agent is dissatisfied with what they see around them, in favor of a much better vision of the future. Without this future drive, the change agent can lose their way.

A Change Agent is fueled by passion and inspires passion in others. Change is hard work and takes a lot of energy. Don’t underestimate this. In my experience, without passion, it is very difficult indeed to muster up enough energy to breakdown the stronghold of the status quo.

A Change Agent has a strong ability to self-motivate. There will be many days where everyone around does not understand and will not offer props. The change agent needs to find it within themselves to get up every day and come to work and risk being misunderstood and unappreciated, knowing that the real validation may be far in the future and maybe claimed by someone else.

A Change Agent knows change is understanding people. Because at the end of the day, change is about people. If you change everything but the people, you are not an effective change agent. Change will really “stick” when people embrace it. Therefore, change is part sales, part counseling and part encouragement. It’s all about people. Today’s most powerful avenue for the Change Agent is in the areas of Social Enterprise, Arts, Media, Technology and above all Community.

Taking Care Of Business

I attended a business seminar, which was very powerful in terms of reminding me that I am not my business, but rather I am the CEO, GUARDIAN or PARENT of my business and it is my RESPONSIBILITY to take care of it in the appropriate manner.

Wilson Luna uses the analogy of your business being like your child, it is vulnerable in its early stages of development.

What follows is my new version on how to take better care of MY BUSINESS – Incorporating it with the child parallel.

1. My BUSINESS (child) was born from me, but I am not my BUSINESS (child).

2. My BUSINESS (child) will definitely inherit some of my GIFTS and VALUES.

3. I RESPECT and VALUE the TIME I spend with my BUSINESS (child).

4. I am very MINDFUL what nourishment I provide to my BUSINESS (child).

5. I am also MINDFUL of how I manage and correct my BUSINESS (child).

6. When I don’t know what to do – I ASK – someone with more experience what to do for my BUSINESS (child).

7. I make sound decisions that will create a future/legacy for my BUSINESS (child).

8. I don’t leave my BUSINESS (child) in the care of others who don’t understand, respect or be kind to my BUSINESS (child).

A BUSINESS goes through different stages of development just as a child does and it needs a lot of support as it grows.

Again the BUSINESS (child) will grow according to its environment its like this – it needs support from its GUARDIAN, FAMILY, COMMUNITY and HUMANITY – that is how it can grow and become a VALUABLE CONTRIBUTION in the world.

We can be very irresponsible bringing up children and are the same with our business.

The parallels around raising a CHILD and raising a BUSINESS are amazing !!

Panning for GOLD

Objectively –

meaning: using facts and not influenced by personal feelings or beliefs: 

impartially, neutrally, fairly, justly, without prejudice, with an open mind, equitably, without fear or favour, even-handedly, without bias – to view a situation objectively.

So often we suffer over troubling situations, we go over and over what we could say to this person or that. We think up all sorts of scenarios of how they should or could be. We relentlessly try to come up with ways to control outcomes. We create enormous stories in our mind that can last for decades, which in most cases wont make one ounce of difference, except for depleting our energy levels and taking up our time.

I have come up with a very quick and effective tool for dealing with situations that are in emotional entanglement. I call it “panning for GOLD”.
It is a 6 step process that goes like this…
  • Decide to view the situation objectively. 
  • Take all the names, relationships and who did what out of the situation.
  • What are the facts that are present?
  • Wait for a moment for the unwanted matter to fall away in your mind.
  • Allow the truth to come to the surface.
  • What is left is only the GOLD of the situation.

Here is an example…

A friend asks you over for dinner, they don’t give you a time of arrival. When you phone to make arrangements they don’t answer your calls. Last time you went to their place for a meal they had been drinking all day and forgot you were coming. You feel very uncomfortable about the whole situation, you do care about this person and are worried about their drinking, but you don’t want to get stuck at their place hungry and angry again.

Let’s GOLD pan this situation…

  • This person clearly isn’t reliable.
  • Evaluate the situation – is this a friendship or a co-dependency?
  • If I want to remain friends, I will need to call the shots.
  • Is this my problem?
  • Remove myself from the emotional entanglement.
  • The gift here is that I have repeatedly witnessed the history … and can now stop participating in it.

The gold in this particular experience is very clear – there is always a CHOICE POINT.

Try this tool of empowerment in your life and see if you can strike some GOLD!!

Inter Connectivity

Connectivity is much more than we think and I can confidently say that it is through our connectivity that we are able to create. We often think consciousness is different in nature, but of course, it is ‘consciousness’ that is driving all of creation. I call this level of connective reality Communication Networks of Consciousness. Just like everything in nature, our consciousness also has infinite and finite systems that operate on the principle of pathways and connectivity. The cosmos is, in fact, a sea of communication (common-union).

Clarity of purpose while in common-union, creates. It is at this level of participation that true coherence can and will occur. Coherence is like the glue of creation, there needs to be a consistency in logical interconnection plus an overall sense or understanding between other operating parts. It may sound complicated in relation to community, but in fact, that is where we need to understand the nature of coherence most of all. Before we can really co-create we have to have coherence and before coherence, we have to have connectivity.

There are many levels of connectivity between humans, but it is only when there is a collective impulse of true purpose alive in a community that the creative process will activate and start moving forward. Each and every part of the whole must be in alignment with the desired outcome and each member must be fully present to their role in that outcome. The collective vision must always be the driver for the whole group.

For example, the Unite Your Light WOMEN’s original vision was to – 

Grow a New Humanity and the interconnected visions of the group were;

  • The New Woman 
  • The New Man 
  • The New Story 
  • The New Family 
  • The New Child 

which collectively is The New Humanity.

And when we were faced with a moment of conflict within our group or even within yourself, we needed to go straight to the collective vision to see why the conflict had arisen. It didn’t mean the conflict would disappear immediately, but rather we could see that the conflict was actually a creative conflict and a necessary part of our conscious evolution as a whole. It is at this point of choice that our vision would start to evolve into a reality.

The creative conflict is a re-aligning mechanism and in the process of correcting and transforming the creative conflict, we actually became the vision. In regards to how community needs to work together, this concept is leading edge. A community’s true function is unity and I believe the science of community is connectivity and coherence with each other. It is in our willingness and ability to correct and transform that brings us together as a community. The beauty of our collective outcome becomes a genuine part of the natural order and process. We as human beings are literally encoded and designed to successfully contribute to the evolution of humanity.

As human beings moving forward on this journey of evolution lets be mindful of what we are contributing to the whole, are you clear about your purpose, your function and the possible outcome of your actions?

What is truth and trust?

That is an interesting question indeed, I now have a new reality on what truth and trust actually is. 

It’s not just a case of saying what you think is true …… I actually think the attributes of truth and trust are like some sort of energetic universal substance, which makes everything in the Cosmos work better.

What if the combination of truth and trust is an energy force, which is connected to what ever needs to be corrected and transformed. What if truth is another name for the unified field, constantly correcting and evolving everything it is connected to. Our experience so far in our Unite the Light venture has been a journey of precisely that.

Truth has been entering the Unite the Light consciousness like a powerful lioness, she arrives, takes charge and is always fully present to her task at hand. But if we, as a team are not fully present to the powerful call of truth, things begin to get congested and jam up, people get tired and frustrated because of the lack of energetic flow. Once truth arrives and reveals its message, it magically transform its self into trust. Proof that we can’t really trust until we first fully know the purity of truth. That is the key factor; truth is fundamentally pure.

Which brings me to the conclusion that some how we have forgotten that particular words, like these attributes are in fact patterns of light working with us to create a better world. They are a part of the light that connects us to expanding levels of consciousness, other worlds and new horizons.

This says it all really “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
