Your Vision Steers Your Leadership Style

Ask yourself these questions:

  • Do I really know what makes my heart sing?
  • What do I usually tell myself to avoid taking action?
  • What does my role as a New Style Leader give me?
  • How do I measure my improvements?
  • Do I believe I can make positive changes in the world?
  • What do I already know? What skills do I have?
  • What do I want to communicate and participant in?
  • What are my personal values?
  • What have I learned from my experience, and how can I apply that now?
  • What can I offer to support our team vision?
  • Do I need encouragement?
  • How do I feel about my current reality as a New Style Leader?
  • Am I happy in my role?
  • Where am I on my social and spiritual path?

These questions are to help you gain a clearer picture of what you may need as an up and coming New Style Leader, and what changes you may consider making to enhance your experience.

Discovering your Creative Self.

Know yourself.Decide what your larger vision is.Think about what you value most in life, and how your current vision could match that value.

Brush up on techniques. Perhaps you might need to get advice in some areas, or some guidance. Talking to a mentor or spiritual counselor may help here. Or it may be time for you to become a mentor.

Keep a cool eye and a firm hand.Commit to a course of action with your team or perhaps you need to find a team and apply an ongoing strategy that will aid in keeping your focus as a team.

Enjoy your role as a New Style Leader. Reward yourself and feel good about what you have committed to and where you are heading.

WOMEN – Your Brand Is Your Love Affair With Life!

10919397_761555630595179_4104891250731557700_o

Whisper in Love, Weep with Love and Wish only for Love.

This is the Majesty and Language of the Heart.

What we really want is Real Deal freedom… a pure and undiluted version of freedom.

So, we need to create an impulse of SHE power (Spiritually Healthy Entrepreneurs)… And I believe it’s being in community that holds the freedom we are all looking for, not a stuffy, sticky or intrusive bunch of people who don’t know who they really are.

But rather, connecting to The Truth in each other and making real contact with those who understand our heart song… this is what we all long for.

And it’s our brands role to recognize the following, before we can truly connect with our tribe/audience.

  • We long for connection with all that is curious and creative.
  • We are creatures who belong to each other for reasons beyond analysis; it is our hearts desire and our life’s purpose to fulfill a worthy story.
  • We ache with a need to create or sadly the other is we become numb and indifferent.

I encourage us all to be courageously creative and connect to those who want to create with us. E.G.Ellames

Steves 7 Golden Rules

STEVE WALLPAPER 1 - mytrickytricks.blogspot

The Steve Jobs’ phenomena touched nearly every aspect of IT life; computers, movies, music and mobile. As a personal brand consultant I have observed Jobs presentation, values and style many times over – his unwavering commitment to creating quality was very inspiring. Perhaps Steve Jobs’ greatest legacy is the set of principles that drove his success.

Lets look deeper into the life and career of Steve Jobs’…

Here’s my view on his 7 golden rules and values underpinning his success.

NEXT REAL DEAL seminar – http://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/being-real-matters-the-art-of-being-present-tickets-8963777901

Any of us can adopt them to unleash our “creative master” within.

1. Do what you love. Steve Jobs once said, “People with passion can change the world for the better.” When asked about the advice he would offer new entrepreneurs, he said, “I’d get a job as a busboy or something until I figured out what I was really passionate about.” That’s how much it meant to him.

Passion is everything.

2. Put a dent in the universe. Steve Jobs believed in the power of vision. He once asked then-Pepsi President, John Sculley, “Do you want to spend your life selling sugar-water or do you want to change the world?”

Don’t lose sight of the big vision.

3. Make connections. Steve Jobs once said creativity is connecting things. What he meant was people with a broad set of life experiences can often see things that others miss. He took calligraphy classes that didn’t have any practical use in his life – until he built the Macintosh. Jobs traveled to India and Asia. He studied design and hospitality.

Don’t live your life in a bubble. Connect ideas from different fields.

4. Say no to 1,000 things. Steve Jobs was as proud of what Apple chose not to do as he was of what Apple did do. When he returned to Apple in 1997, he took a company with 350 products and reduced them to 10 products in a two-year period. Why? So he could put the “A-Team” on each product.

What are you saying “no” to?

5. Create insanely different experiences. Steve Jobs also sought innovation in the customer-service experience. When he first came up with the concept for the Apple Stores, he said they would be different because instead of just moving boxes, the stores would enrich lives. Everything about the experience you have when you walk into an Apple store is intended to enrich your life and to create an emotional connection between you and the Apple brand.

What are you doing to enrich the lives of your tribe/community/audience?

6. Master the message. You can have the greatest idea in the world, but if you can’t communicate your ideas, it doesn’t matter. Jobs was the world’s greatest corporate storyteller.

Instead of simply delivering a presentation like most people do, he informed, he educated, he inspired and he entertained, all in one presentation.

7. Sell dreams, not products. Jobs captured our imagination because he really understood his tribe/audience. He knew that tablets would not capture our imaginations if they were too complicated. The result? One button on the front of an iPad. It’s so simple, a 2-year-old can use it. Your tribe don’t care about your product. They care about how it makes them feel and if it connects to their hopes and ambitions.

Jobs taught us that if you help your tribe/audience reach their dreams, you’ll win them over… that’s what a TribeTalker© is. They’re someone who believes in what you believe in and have simular values; your from the same tribe.

And when you connect to a brand at that level you share your enthusiasm with others and demonstrate your gratitude. You organicly become a devoted TribeTalker©… just like I’m doing right now.

I love every thing about my MAC, because it connects me to what I stands for, which is beauty, quality, creativity and truth. That is why I am a TribeTalker© for Steve Jobs and iMac… thats just how it works.

We are what we share… and we share if we care! That’s the TribeTalker© creed.

Steve_Jobs_portrait_by_tumb

There’s a great story that sums up Steve Jobs’ career at Apple. An executive who had the job of reinventing the Disney Store once called up Jobs and asked for advice.

His advice was… DREAM BIGGER. (Steve was like Walt in so many ways) I think that’s the best advice he could leave us with.

Our motto at Real Deal seminars is… Dream It, Create it, Feel it, Live it.

I lend a quote from Steve’s huge success – “See the genius in your craziness, believe in yourself, believe in your vision, and be constantly prepared to defend those ideas.”

Goodbye to Gossip

Hello Integrity….. Dear old gossip has become an addiction for many women.

It is seductive and builds an unhealthy intimacy among women, which creates false security. I believe the female species will come to a place of contentment when this persistent obstacle is corrected and transformed.

Gossip is connected to these four faces of addiction.

  • boredom
  • competition
  • drama
  • low self-esteem

Realizing this is the first step to healing the addiction – from there we can choose to participate in it or not.

It is said the point of power is in the present and poor old Gossip is never in the present she is always going on about what was said or happened in the past. She weaves her words for the purpose of separation, which create a divide in friendships, family and community.

Gossip keeps everyone small and is always driven by fear. Women have relied on gossip to define their position in society and culture for centuries, but it is not necessary anymore. Women now have the opportunity to rise up out of this unproductive damaging behavior and create a new and prosperous culture for all women.

Gossip is a shadow deity whose time and face has come to an end. She has upgraded to the face of “Integrity”, who is evolving into the New Woman, the New Humanity and therefore there is no place for these old behaviors.

I say it is time to put our temptation to spread rumors to bed and start being more creative with our female conversations, after all, we are extremely creative beings.

For the record, the gossip on me is “why does she always have to be… so in ya’ face” well my response to that is – at least it’s to your face and not behind your back and bitchin’ in the kitchen so to speak.

Guess it all started with that wicked old queen in the story of Snow White who’s famous last words were “Mirror, Mirror on the wall who’s the fairest of them all” now she had a serious bitchin’ addiction.

Hope you can take this refreshing idea into your relationships and watch them bloom into something far greater than girly catch ups.

Real Deal Men and Women

barefoot-daytime-facial-expression-936112

Is evolution handing the reins over to women?

If we lift the veil on our Planet… what do we see right now?

The dominant profit-over-people systems are going through major breakdowns. Humanity’s 5,000-year abuse of power and masculine/feminine imbalance is coming to an end. People are waking up to a new wave of consciousness.

How do we deal with this change?

First, we need to disconnect from the emotional entanglement of the old. Then recognize that we are at the end of a cycle, which is what we need to do in order for the new to be born.

How do we facilitate this new way of being in the world?

The old way has conditioned women to feel powerless. But their nature, in fact, has always been powerful. Women have the ability to access power from the depths of their intuition, they hold within their bodies a great creative potential, and can exercise power through a balanced open heart. Women know how to connect, for they are the masters of emotion.

Women innately have the power of creation within them.

At present women are being asked to stand strong. Not to stand against something, but to stand up and be REAL DEAL women. On their own, women can’t heal the violation of our planet or bring peace to the whole world. But every woman willing to direct her passion, mission, heart’s desire, life’s work can facilitate the change we need. Together we can create a new story for humanity, one where a woman stands strong in their true leadership potential.

The old way has caused women to compete against each other. It is time for women to throw off their conditioning, reach out to each other, and collaborate. Collectively standing in their power creates connection and with this increase of Unity, the old power structures will fall away.

Is it time for women to stop asking for permission and time to start asking for support?

The New Woman is bringing forth the New Man; at the moment men have a very different task also, which is to reclaim the power of their heart. They too are experiencing this new and often challenging transformation, which is forcing us to respect each other even more. Their role is to increasingly honor women while they go about their life purpose and to honor their own male process and responses, which is being activated by the emerging feminine power that is upon us.

So what does the future hold?

Who really knows, but what we can do is focus on what works, as the old ways change for the better and make way for a new way of being… women and men alike—have a window of opportunity: the opportunity to dream a new world rooted in the energy of a higher heart, the souls calling, the balance of the feminine/masculine that is created through the gift of revere, recognition and respect.

There is no question that a new world will emerge. The only question is: What part do we want to play in it?

Are you ready to be a REAL DEAL man and woman?

Do you always live your life in the present moment?

Can you identify and communicate your story and your brand clearly?

REAL DEAL productions have been created for the purpose of helping men and women to identify, clarify, specify, edify and unify their purpose-based brand. The clearer you are around your time, energy and purpose the more value you can contribute to your own life and the lives of others.

Leadership Is Becoming More ‘Feminine’

2014_klcm_report

Global Headline Findings: The Future of Leadership Communication is More ‘Feminine’ – an Enhanced Blueprint

1 – Leading by example, communicating transparently, admitting mistakes and bringing out the best in others top the list of leadership attributes. It is key actions around honesty, transparency and collaboration – not just key messages – that matter most.

2 – This is seen acutely in crisis situations, when it is critical to offer practical, accountable solutions that match words and deeds, while operationalizing empathy rather simply than showing empathy for its own sake.

3 – The future of leadership communication is more ‘feminine’. Female leaders perform best on 5 of the 7 most important attributes and on all of the top – Although the world is looking more to male 4 leaders than female ones – 54% to 46%.

4 – Trustworthiness remains at an absolute premium for corporations to be seen as leaders – together with quality and service. It is worrying therefore that leadership scores have fallen across multiple industries, despite leadership scores for most vertical sectors rising 8 points or more.

5 – Multiple audiences beyond the corporation itself – particularly friends and family, media and activists/NGOs – outrank the CEO and other senior management as trusted sources of information, while also directly impacting consumers’ purchasing behavior.

6 – Company employees who you know, together with those involved in selling goods or services and managing complaints, leave senior managers and the CEO standing as sources of credible corporate information – making effective employee engagement critical.

7 – Personal presence and engagement remain at a premium across all communications channels, while digital and social channels lag ‘traditional’ and ‘in-person’ channels in impacting public sentiment.

8 – A specific vocal minority sub-set of consumers – ‘Leadership eVangelists’ – have a disproportionate impact on commercial outcomes, making engagement with them critical to commercial outcomes and corporate credibility.

Effective Leadership = Open Communication + Decisive Action + Personal Presence

A model underlining the importance of the Good Leader Formula developed over the past two years: Effective Leadership = Open Communication + Decisive Action + Personal Presence. The debate continues and Ketchum is proud to be part of it.

The Four Key Elements Of The Change Agent

00016G

Here are the 4 key elements of the Change Agent for those of you who may be thinking – “Am I a Change Agent, Change Make or perhaps even a Social Entrepreneur?”

What is a Change Agent or a Social Entrepreneur?

They are the New Style Leaders who are motivated by a desire to help, improve and transform social, environmental, educational and economic conditions. Key traits and characteristics of highly effective new style leaders/social entrepreneurs include ambition and a lack of acceptance of the status quo or accepting the world “as it is”. The new style leader is driven by an emotional desire to address some of the big social and economic conditions in the world, for example, poverty and educational deprivation, rather than by the desire for only making a profit. New-style leaders seek to develop innovative solutions to global problems that can be copied by others to enact change. New Style Leaders act within a market aiming to create social value through the improvement of goods and services offered to the community. Their main aim is to offer a better service, improving the community as a whole and is predominately run as non-profit schemes.

A Change Agent lives life with vision and action. Regardless of what is going on today, a change agent has a vision of what could or should be and uses that as the governing sense of action. To a certain extent, a change agent is dissatisfied with what they see around them, in favor of a much better vision of the future. Without this future drive, the change agent can lose their way.

A Change Agent is fueled by passion and inspires passion in others. Change is hard work and takes a lot of energy. Don’t underestimate this. In my experience, without passion, it is very difficult indeed to muster up enough energy to breakdown the stronghold of the status quo.

A Change Agent has a strong ability to self-motivate. There will be many days where everyone around does not understand and will not offer props. The change agent needs to find it within themselves to get up every day and come to work and risk being misunderstood and unappreciated, knowing that the real validation may be far in the future and maybe claimed by someone else.

A Change Agent knows change is understanding people. Because at the end of the day, change is about people. If you change everything but the people, you are not an effective change agent. Change will really “stick” when people embrace it. Therefore, change is part sales, part counseling and part encouragement. It’s all about people. Today’s most powerful avenue for the Change Agent is in the areas of Social Enterprise, Arts, Media, Technology and above all Community.

So if this is you come and join our Community… We are a New Style Community for New Style Leaders 🙂

The Power of Mentoring

WHAT I KNOW FOR SURE

About 10 years ago I was asked by a beautiful and enthusiastic young woman if I would be one of her spiritual mentors.

At first, I thought “Do I have time for it? ” “Am I good enough to do such a job?” “Does one get paid for something like this?”

You know how it is – Blah Blah Blah!

Because it set off so many different thought processes, I knew I needed to step back and have a good look at what was really happening here. I then saw how my ego (fear) was tripping me up.

Once I had given myself some time to be still and see what I was really being asked to do – it was clear. For someone to ask you to mentor them is a God-given privilege and an honorable duty to be accepted with grace.

The process of meeting with this delightful young woman was actually a gift to me as well; it has moved me forward on my own journey. It became very clear to me that it is a natural and essential way for humans to interact and grow.

Since then I have been asked to mentor 2 other young women and I look forward to each of their visits with absolute excitement. I am sure that it is our lack of connection with each other, which has caused most of our social problems.

Unfortunately, some parents don’t even recognize that they are mentors for their children and I think if the aged population had a young person visiting them for mentoring once a week or fortnight they to would be alive with purpose and act in ways they didn’t know were possible. Simply listening to the thoughts and perspectives of a young person would help to stimulate their thinking and expand their world.

And of course, the wisdom and stories that an elder can pass on are equally as valuable to our youth.

After my first year of mentoring… I came to the conclusion that  ‘If we are not mentoring, we need to be mentored’ it is a continuum so to speak. A giving back to the world, your community, through your life experiences. A giving and receiving process that comes with a level of respect that one can’t find anywhere else in life.

I strongly believe that the rightful practice of mentoring in our world is the key to true human sustainability. What follows is a small piece I wrote on the matter:

_________________________

Through the simple act of being a Mentor or being Mentored, we uncover our true purpose in life. It is from this revered action of commitment and appreciation that an individual’s generosity and integrity abound. From our somewhat hidden nature, we find strength and gain unity. We miraculously blossom and move forward with hope in our hearts for the generations to come.

Taking Care Of Business

558375_383456461708569_2071002044_n

I attended a business seminar, which was very powerful in terms of reminding me that I am not my business, but rather I am the CEO, GUARDIAN or PARENT of my business and it is my RESPONSIBILITY to take care of it in the appropriate manner.

Wilson Luna uses the analogy of your business being like your child, it is vulnerable in its early stages of development.

____________________________________________

What follows is my new version on how to take better care of MY BUSINESS – Incorporating it with the child parallel.

1. My BUSINESS (child) was born from me, but I am not my BUSINESS (child).

2. My BUSINESS (child) will definitely inherit some of my GIFTS and VALUES.

3. I RESPECT and VALUE the TIME I spend with my BUSINESS (child).

4. I am very MINDFUL what nourishment I provide to my BUSINESS (child).

5. I am also MINDFUL of how I manage and correct my BUSINESS (child).

6. When I don’t know what to do – I ASK – someone with more experience what to do for my BUSINESS (child).

7. I make sound decisions that will create a future/legacy for my BUSINESS (child).

8. I don’t leave my BUSINESS (child) in the care of others who don’t understand, respect or be kind to my BUSINESS (child).

A BUSINESS goes through different stages of development just as a child does and it needs a lot of support as it grows.

Again the BUSINESS (child) will grow according to its environment its like this – it needs support from its GUARDIAN, FAMILY, COMMUNITY and HUMANITY – that is how it can grow and become a VALUABLE CONTRIBUTION in the world.

We can be very irresponsible bringing up children and are the same with our business.

The parallels around raising a CHILD and raising a BUSINESS are amazing !!
